Summer holidays are just around the corner and I am sure every parent out there must be planning for some activities to keep the children occupied (I know, one of the hardest tasks in parenting)
For me, it has to go easy and stress-free, Afterall, they are holidays and meant to be enjoyed to the fullest rather than planning and executing as per schedule!. Rather than tidying up the toys and falling over on Lego, I am ok for the children to help me in the kitchen and enjoy outdoor activities. Being a SAHM, we have the luxury of lazy lie-ins over summer holidays and escape for outdoor activities while cooking and baking gets too much!
I hardly encourage any visits from less known friends during summer holidays. Friends are welcomed only if I am sure that they actually don’t mind the messy kitchen and untidied living room!
I recently received a challenge from Britmums to take part in the “Confessions of a summer parent challenge in partnership with Anchor. For me, it is perfect because……
our summer holidays are usually filled with Messing the kitchen, flooding the garden and visiting the Theme parks! ( I carefully choose the dates to renew our Merlin Annual pass to make sure that it is valid through the summer holidays)
We do a lot of face painting and Arts and Crafts!
But, most importantly, despite all the options, I prefer to fly to India to visit the family so I have a huge help over there 🙂 Bit an expensive solution, but that’s when we get to spend good time with the family!
So, here is something we did over the last few summer holidays. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
Oh, Yes! Don’t forget the beach and the mess! We come home with lots of treasure that will soon be magically disappeared by mum’s magic spell!
To take part in the challenge, I received a free Anchor Cheddar voucher and a free Anchor Spreadable voucher and I have planned some messy baking over the holidays. So, watch out this space!
- How do you spend your summer holidays?
- Do you have any tips and tricks to make it stress-free?
