When I was working at a physical office location, my work desk always looked nice and tidy – sure it was a child free environment and there is hardly any chance for a Christmas Bauble or a greeting card maker to get some space on the desk!
But, things changed after having children and especially when I decided to stay at home after having DD2, many things changed including the look of my office desk! There have been too many pencil cases, colouring sheets, a few teddies and though it would seem unimaginable to find a space for a laptop, I actually have been always successful! (All the Mums and Dads knows the trick and may have many although mine is always the same and simple – take a bag, put everything inside it!)
I would love to post a survey to see the actual and reality of the desire to have a spotless office desk! There was an article on Telegraph that revealed an information that a person’s personality can be decided by the look of his/her office desk. Although I am quite reluctant to agree to what’s been said in the article, I do believe that a clean and tidy space would send positive vibrations to the mind and makes you feel fresh and ready to work anytime!
Here are some examples of some typical office desks that would see every day!
Although it is quite hard to keep a very clean office desk, a few extra storage might help to tidy it a bit. If you are DIY fanatic, then the video published by Channel 4 featuring one of the best DIY ideas from Phil Spencer’s Perfect Home Office to make a handy Pegboard for your office might be of your interest.
I am hoping to get my hands on DIY during the Christmas holidays and thinking of getting some help from the children. Hope you would give it a try too!?
And, I was sent a very interesting Infographic from furniture@work that shows some relationship between your star sign and how you would like to keep things organised. And most shockingly, the prediction matches perfectly with how hubby feels about organised mess. He is Taurus and definitely a very organised person. I find most of the missing things mainly because hubby keeps t in place where it has to be and as far as I search in the right place, I would hardly miss it.
So, How clean is your office desk!? How often do you tidy it up and have you ever left it is for a while when you got bored of tidying it!? I would love to see if you have any pictures of your office desk for some inspirations!
