Glimmies – A Review

Though action figures are less popular at Mummy and the Cuties, adorable doll figures always scores the highest love! Both the cuties love collecting tiny figures of fairies and dollies and everything gets securely stored in the Moshi Monsters Gumball Machine we own.

To add to the collection, the girls were sent something very exciting a couple of weeks before – Glimmies! 

Glimmies are the little fairies who light up when the lights go out at night and they cautiously hide their lights when it is bright. It is a part of collectibles and there are quite a good number of Glimmies to collect. Glimmies come with a beautiful story with them which is a must read and I hope you enjoy the story as much as we did.

So, now you know the speciality of the Glimmies – the trusty little star fairies who looks after the wood frost animals and why they light up at night and hide at bright!

There are about 23 Glimmies to collect and they are available either in single pack or as a pack of three. They are slightly bigger than the other collectibles available in the market and of a very decent size when hold by the little hands. 

They are about 6cm tall and each fairy has a resemblance to the animal it looks after in the wood. There is a small switch behind them to turn them on and off (to save the battery). If it is too bright but you still want your little star fairy to glow, hold them cupped in the hand and they will reveal their beautiful glowing and enchanting light. 

If you wonder about how the magic works and usually a bit techy and curious about how magic is implemented,  the science behind this magical reaction is by using a photometric light sensor on their head that responds to the “lack” of light in the surrounding environment. – Grown up tip – Just hide the sensor on the top of the head while holding them in hand and you will see them magically glowing.
