I would love to have the hair just like Tangled – provided there is someone who can maintain MY hair or if there is a magic to keep it adorable all the time. My kids are no different from me, they both love long hair and every morning we end up in little arguments about brushing the hair!!!!
Though it is a bit of hard work for me to maintain, I take a (little) care to look after their hair. So, most times you can find me googling for good hair care tips. Recently, I also received a few hair care advises from Beauty Cuts, a leading hair salon in Bournemouth, UK. I have a very dry hair while I found my kids hair too oily most times.
Regular brushing and combing tremendously helps for healthy hair growth as it stimulates the blood circulation in the head which in turn makes your hair grow healthier and stronger.
It is advised to comb your hair atleast twice a day as it helps reduce tangles and improves the blood circulation. A silky hair might be a just still be possible only in dreams for many as the oily nature affects dryness of your scalp and thus has a huge impact on the appearance of your hair.
Maintaining a good oil level on the scalp is an important factor to get a smooth, Silky hair
If you find your hair too dry, frequent use of hair dryer could be one of the reasons along with the weather, pollution and humidity in the air. A massage with a good quality oil on the head (and make sure you actually apply oil on the scalp rather than just using it on the hair .And it is better to do it an hour before the shower. In this way, oil reaches the roots of the hair and will have enough time to do its magic role with your hair. This can be done twice a week and your will surely get immediate results.
Back in India, use of coconut oil on the hair is must as the weather is too dry and hot and it affects your skin and hair. I also was told that use of Castor oil on the hair once in a week helps maintain the moisture and oil level (although I found castor oil is too thick and needs atleast two washes to get rid of it from the hair)
It is good to let the hair dry on it’s own after a gentle towel dry and avoid using Hair dryer as much as possible.Dry hair will also lead to Dandruff issues which will then be too hard to get rid of.
For this reason, I usually try and do a hair wash over the weekend as there is plenty of time for the hair to dry on it’s own. Also avoid hair straighteners as much as you can and use them only when you really need them.
If you find your hair too oily, it is recommended to wash your hair regularly (atleast twice a week) with a good quality shampoo followed by the conditioner.
By giving a regular wash, your hair will feel very light and silky and will also look like it has good volume. And most importantly, try and avoid hair dyes. The chemical in the dye spoils the nature of the hair and will make them look worse once the dye worn off. But, in the modern trend, you might find it difficult to avoid hair dye completely.
If you can’t avoid Hair dye at all, then it is advisable to find the dyes without Ammonia and the best thing to do is to go to a hair salon and get your hair dyed by a professional hairstylist.
Hope you find the tips useful and I would love to hear from you if you know of any more tips. Please feel free to come and share here and I am looking forward to more hair care tips from you all.
