Starlight Children’s Foundation, What do they DO!

Starlight brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by wish granting and also by providing fun, entertainment, laughter and distraction for children in every children’s hospital ward and hospice throughout the United Kingdom. All Starlight’s activities are aimed at distracting children from the pain, fear and isolation they can often feel as a result of their illnesses.

Starlight grants once-in-a-lifetime wishes for seriously and terminally ill children, restoring the magic and fun of childhood and giving the whole family happy memories to share, whatever the future holds. Starlight also creates entertainment in every hospital and hospice throughout the UK.

So This Until this Valentines day, Build-A-Bear Workshop® is on a Mission to bring smiles to Starlight children.

On 25th January, A group of Terminally ill children were invited to a wonderful morning of fun at the Build-A-Bear Workshop® store in The Oracle, Reading. This visit by the Starlight Wish children was followed by a day-long Stuffed with Hugs initiative at the Reading store, saw the public make special fifty Stuffed With Hugs bears, which will then be gifted to Starlight Wish children across the country.

Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. is the only global company that offers an interactive make-your-own stuffed animal retail-entertainment experience. The children Choose their own toy, stuff and dress them and take them home.

Build-A-Bear Workshop,will also host a special Valentine’s Day event for wish children in Reading.

So How your Child’s wish Can make another Child’s Wish Come True

Each time a Guest makes a furry friend at Build-A-Bear Workshop; they select a small satin heart and fill it with love and wishes. The heart is then placed carefully inside their new furry friend. Now through Valentine’s Day, Guests are invited to share photos of their “heart ceremony” on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest. For every share with #shareukbabwwishes, Build-A-Bear Workshop will donate £1 to Starlight (up to £5,000). Build-A-Bear Workshop Guests can also make a monetary donation to support Starlight at checkout tills in stores nationwide throughout the Valentine’s Day season.
