Think of a scenario when you receive an invite from your favourite brand and promised to be fed with a delicious lunch – which of the below scenario would you fall into!?
- A person who forgets about your diet (if you follow one) and just enjoy the feast;
- Someone who is really conscious about what and how much you feed yourself with and decide to have just a taste of a few (or everything on the table)
- Diet!? What exactly it is!? Don’t care and just eat whats in front of you as far as it looks delicious!
Whatever box you tick, just to let you get jealous, I had been to a lunch with few other food bloggers to #GetFussed and enjoy a 3-course lunch, and they actually had managed to feed almost everyone who fell into any of those categories, and to add to it, the nutrition value as well was taken care of !
There were a group of bloggers and nutrition specialists around the table who were ready to taste the food that was served with different ingredients and with different nutritional values.
When we talk about Nutrition, there are only a few that comes to our mind with Protein, Carbs and Vitamins topping the list and most of us do either forget or completely ignore something very important – The Fibre content
Arla was hosting this event to educate and bring the awareness of how important Fibre rich diet is, and how much fibre we should actually be eating everyday, and has given some shocking details of how much we actually consume!
Some of us were served with food containing low fibre while others get to taste the fibre rich food! There were no big difference that you could obviously notice but there was definitely some ingredients were substituted with similar ones that improved the fibre content of the food.

The first course served to me was a risotto with chorizo crumb, coffee, Parmesan and baby basil.
Howmuch fibre !?
A healthy diet should include 30g of fibre everyday and most of us only consume 17g or less!
More the fibre means, less the pain for most people! My youngest was suffering from Constipation for a while and she was given lactulose to ease it, obviously came up with some side-effects, that forced me to browse for some natural Fibre rich food!

My main course was a roast cutlet & croquette of lamb with Salsa Verde and Potato gratin.
Why was I interested to know more about Arla Fibre?!
As mentioned before, I try my best to give fibre rich diet to my children and yogurt being one of their favourite, it would be a double bonus for me to feed them something they like and also to make sure they get enough nutrients from it.
We use Arla Cravendale Whole milk for everyday and another product from our favourite brand obviously grabbed my interest.
My Dessert was French fruit tart with Figs, Raspberries, Strawberries and honey’d natural yogurt.
Tips to improve the fibre intake with the food you eat!
There was a good list of choices to make to consume more fibre through food! When we think about Fibre, there are a few things that comes to our mind as first thoughts, including the Prunes (that you would have been asked to eat in bulk when you were pregnant), Mine hated Prunes but until I had been to the event I didn’t know that Figs are much richer in Fibre than Prunes, which she actually loves to eat!
- For a quick and easy and healthy fibre consumption, the low-fat yogurt can be substituted with Arla fibre yogurt which gives you 4.7g of fibre per 150g serving.
- If you dieting and conscious about your intake portions, try to swap grapes for strawberries that would give you extra 2.5g of fibre per bowl.
- The Pine nuts in Pesto can be replaced with Sesame seeds for 1.6g of extra fibre per portion.
- Almonds are good in place of Cashews and a 20g portion can given an extra 1g fibre.
- Figs can be an excellent source of Fibre.
- Carrot sticks in place of Apple sticks can yield extra 3.1g of fibre per portion.
- Swap the white bread with wholemeal and white rice with Brown rice!
