We are a huge fan of Despicable Me series and receiving the new Despicable Me 3 Minions Toys bundle was a great excitement to the kids. We have reviewed quite a few products from Minions range before on the blog including Crayola Minions colour alive set, R/C Inflatable Despicable Me 3 Range and The 3D Minion Puzzle.
We received a Stuart Vehicle RC, Minions Walkie Talkies and Splashers from the Despicable Me 3 Minions range.
The Stuart Vehicle is Remote Controlled and is suitable for age 3 years +. It requires 2x AAA batteries for the remote and 3x AA batteries for the vehicle. The batteries are not supplied ( I usually get upset when there is a toy that needs a battery and is not supplied as the toy is not ready for play as soon as it is out of the box)
The vehicle comes with a minion (attached) and drives back and forth. This cool vehicle travels at high speed, perfect for exploring and creating Minion mayhem. The remote is made of plastic and is very small, easy to hold for the little hands. Works by a simple On/Off switch and just two movements (Back and forth), it is really easy for the younger kids to use but older kids may not amuse it.
It has forward and backward movement and can be controlled using the remote. Very good for hand-eye coordination and improves concentration and motoring skills. It is retailed at an average price of £24.99.
The splashers comes with three different minions, Bob, Kevin, and Stuart. There is a small hole in each splasher, so they don’t get wet too soon, a great replacement to water guns. Unfortunately, they is no explicit way to fill water in them. You can use them in the bath or the pool and they are small in size.
The Despicable Me 3 Bath Figures are retailed at around £12.99.
Walkie Talkies is always a super hit in our house and the Minions Walkie Talkies stole the kids heart! The pack contains one Dave and one Stuart. They absolutely love them and haven’t stopped talking and chatting using the Walkie Talkies. It would be an ideal gift for even older kids. They work in 100m range which I think is a very good distance coverage for toy Walkie Talkies. Very easy to use with the press of a button and they have volume control which is a plus.
They help improve communication skills and can be used inside or out and about. As with all the other Walkie Talkies, The Minion Walkie Talkies requires 2 x 9V batteries which are not included with the toy.
The good thing about them is the Antenna which is flexible and there is no worry about breaking them.
It is recommended for children aged 3 and above although I couldn’t figure out any small parts in it. The Minion Walkie Talkies are retailed at around £12.99 and available to buy from all the major toy stores.
