Hatchimals CollEGGtibles Season 2 – Review

My kids always wanted to have some kind of pets – a dog, a cat, a hamster or even a chicken sometimes! Although I would love to have one, loosing my beloved puppy at a very young age when I was a child influenced me in a very negative way that I have always said no to them. 

But we do have a lot of toy pets at home and Hatchimals have been on our list for a while.  When I  got an opportunity to talk about the new Hatchimals collEGGtibles Season 2, I happily said yes as I was sure that it would impress and entertain the kids – considering the term holidays are here and anything that keeps the kids occupied in a good way gets my vote!

What are Hatchimals

Hatchimals are the super cute creatures that live in a magical place called hatchtopia. The CollEGGtibles are the tiny hatchimals and they come in a small egg shell. The CollEGGtibles need to be hatched in the similar way as the original Hatchimals – Need a lot of love, caring and attention from the child. 

There are over 100s to collect in Season 2 and the collectors chart will help you find the Hatchimal CollEGGtible you just helped hatching. 

What do you get in CollEGGtibles Season 2 and at What price?

Hatchimals CollEGGtibles can be bought in a single blind bags with just one Hatchimal and there are multi packs too. The single blind bags are £2.99 each, The 2 Pack with nest as a bonus is priced at £4.99 and the 4 pack with a bonus character is priced at £9.99.

How to hatch the Hatchimal CollEGGtible Characters

The eggs in each pack hides a character  from different families and each family has atleast 8 Hatchimals in them. Each egg has a purple heart on them and by rubbing the heart, it turns to pink, and at that time the egg is ready to hatch to reveal the character. 

We found it a little tricky to hatch the egg by just rubbing it! It can be gentle but mind it, the egg will then need hours to hatch :), The little one rubbed it hard, dropped it to see if it can break and even tried to licked it to see if it can hatch! Finally mum has to go for rescue! 

Once the heart turns to pink, you press the heart a little hard to break the shell to reveal the hatchimal. The remaining part of the shell can be used as a nest to the Hatchimal along with the nest that comes in 2 packs. 

Hatchimals Season 2 has a golden pack hidden in some eggs and there are only 55 of them! We haven’t been lucky enough to hatch a golden Hatchimal but the little one was more than happy with her collEGGtibles. 

The super cute Season 2 Hatchimal CollEGGtibles comes with some unique features like Sparkly wings which is super exciting for the children.

What we think about Hatchimal CollEGGtibles

They are great for the party bags and just the right, cute thing to spend the pocket money on.  My kids always love the egg surprises in chocolate form, so they love the Hatchimal CollEGGtibles loads. 

I would prefer a twin or 4 pack to the blind bags if I am buying as a gift but the blind bags are great for the return gifts!
