We live in London, although a lively, lovely, entertaining place to live, it is often equally filled with threats and thefts too. Every road is cramped and even when you live in a closed road and park your car in your driveway, a driver who enters your road to take a u-turn may hit your car and disappear in the dark while you are fast asleep! It is much worse for a car that is parked on the road considering most houses in London don’t have a dedicated driveway.
I don’t drive to school unless it is absolutely essential and if not by walk, we prefer to cycle. I have tried my best to make my children aware of the road safety while cycling. The road is so packed that there is nothing worse than taking the car and waiting in a long queue while the drivers in the front of the queue would be busy in an argument deciding who would give way first! And the irritated drivers do drive recklessly sometimes that they hit the parked car and don’t give a damn about it!
Due to the circumstances, we always consider a comprehensive car insurance. But, the more you expect the more you would pay for it! But it’s not just car insurance we renew every year, we also have to look for the home insurance.
London homes are not only expensive to buy but also to protect with home insurance. The recent burglaries have ridiculously affected the home insurance prices. When we both were working few years before, we were told that the insurance would be slightly expensive as no one stays at home during the day! But things hardly changed when I decided to be SAHM, the insurance was still high claiming there is always someone living in so they have to be protected against the risks! And the more the time spent in home, the more would be the usage and hence the damage!
So, regardless of whether you stay in or go out, the home insurance is essential to protect you and your home. With recent burglaries, it is often difficult to find the best home insurance price but the insurance comparison sites like Chill Insurance makes it easier to find the best prices amongst thousands of insurance providers.
There may be some other type of home insurance to consider when you are a landlord and it is worth comparing all the plus and minus of different insurance providers offering competitive prices! It is a good move to make use of the comparison websites that lessens your job and helps you find the best deal to protect your home and assure to leave with peace of mind.
Home insurance not only protects you from burglaries but also from damages.
Do you own a home? Are you a landlord? Have you used comparison websites before to find the best deal? Do you think comparison websites save you time and money? Do you have a favourite comparison website that you often visit!?
I would love to hear your comments.
e-meet you soon in the next post…

Homeowners insurance provides financial protection against disasters. A standard policy insures the home itself and the things you keep in it.
Homeowners insurance is a package policy. This means that it covers both damage to your property and your liability or legal responsibility for any injuries and property damage you or members of your family cause to other people. Everyone try Saving on home insurance, it is a reasonable, viable option when choosing to take control of your finances. Consider raising your deductible. The higher the deductible, the lower the premium. Home insurance typically includes both buildings and contents insurance, so take that into consideration while looking for one. Go through some recommended site like http://directinsurancenetwork.com/personal-insurance/home-insurance, and try to get multiple quotes if possible, it will help you to choose the best suitable for your needs.
We do have contents insurance, and we did shop around to find one that would include covering peripherals/mobile items. But in doing so we found that using a comparison site and then going to the top few sites directly from that list worked out cheaper than just clicking the top hit on said comparison site. We have also discovered that at times, it is cheaper to cancel a policy at the end of the year and sign up to a new contract rather than renewal with the same company. Seems a strange thing but they really do offer better prices to new customers. The other thing is that the premiums are quoted lower in the middle of the week during the day than at the evenings/weekends when people are more likely to be in a more desperate need. (Buying that cheap car from a mate or only having time to do the legwork when off at the weekends makes for easier signups, I guess?)
It does seem that the general rate of domestic crime and driving incidents has gone up, but I do think that the insurance companies do take advantage a little of those of us who really cannot do without their services. At the end of the day, it is sensible (and legal, in driving) to have cover, so it pays to at least look for a good price whilst getting cover that actually works for you.
Nowadays, Finding a good insurance cover for a diabetic person is a hectic task. Some people eventually consider life insurance for people with diabetes unaffordable and difficult. The reason for is that life insurance policies are allowed to take a premium based on the health condition of the applicant.
Thank you for sharing your post. i suspect it’s much more common than you think.
Yes definitely home insurance gives us peace of mind.It not only protects us from burglaries but also from damages.
Thanks!!
It’s good to know more about home insurance. I like how you said that no matter what, this insurance is important to protect you and your house. We’re hoping to buy our first house next year, so I’ll remember to shop around for insurance.
