One fine Morning….. 2 weeks ago, we were are all up early and got ready early – except that we decided to skip the breakfast as there was a Brunch waiting for us. And I was on super duper excitement to meet a super busy Mum and there was someone waiting there to help me with my questions about diet and nutrition.
Yes… The Brunch was arranged by the lovely people at Weetabix and the Mum on the Run was Tania Farah and the Nutritionist was Sian Porter, Â top Weetabix Nutritionist. The Brunch was at Garden Atrium Bar in “The Orange”, So we had a long way to drive. Hubby was happy to drive us (just) because I mentioned him that we are also going to have a Diet talk… Which is his top most loved topic now.
Weetabix has launched the Ultimate Sports Day campaign with the hope of encouraging children and parents across the UK to fuel future champions with Weetabix, and to inspire kids to get active by reigniting the passion for sport the nation felt during the 2012 Olympics. Farah has joined forces with the nation’s favourite breakfast cereal to back a campaign that aims to encourage UK kids to get excited about exercise.
When we arrived at the site, the kids straight away disappeared from my sight and I found them giggling, laughing, playing and enjoying the balloon fun with Ben, the entertainer. Seeing that, I decided, it was definitely the time for me to sit back, relax and enjoy my Brunch Talk with Tania Farah, other Lovely Mums out there and of course the nutritionist Sian.
After a brief talk from Sian about the nutritional benefits of Weetabix and the necessity for a healthy diet, We were served with delicious choices of Breakfast. I was also happy to know the fact that Weetabix does contain a VERY VERY little amount of sugar in it (which helps to hold the bits together!..) and I was very pleased about Weetabix is very honest about it.
My Children have Weetabix most days as breakfast and sometimes even as a snack!. It definitely convinced me knowing that they are high fibre, low sugar, low fat, whole grain food fortified with B vitamins and iron.  And 2 Weetabix Bars only contain 1/16th of your daily allowance of salt. A balanced breakfast should provide about 20-25% of our energy (calories) for the day, a drink and food from all the food groups and hope I do it right with my children.
I got a great tip that Adding a portion of fruit (fresh/dried/frozen/canned in juice) is great way to serve Weetabix and/or serve with one 150ml glass of pure fruit juice. The vitamin C in the fruit will help absorb iron from the Weetabix.
I had good time Chatting with Tania as well about how she manages everyday with 3 kids and cope up with Mo Farah’s Busy Schedule. There were loads of Mum’s talk. 🙂
It was great having Sian, who helped me clarify my doubts about how I can help my Little ones to have a healthy and balanced diet as my older one is little on the higher side of her allowed BMI and the little one is Slightly on the lower side. So I had to be very careful in what I feed them and how I balance it. And, I honestly felt Hubby had more questions than me and had a very long chat with Sian while he was enjoying his breakfast.
It was a lovely Morning with very informative chat.
Here is how you can let your Kids participate in the competition:
On top of the Ultimate Sports Day, hundreds of kids across the UK are in with the chance to win a range of prizes, including sports equipment for their school and individual prizes such as top-of-the-range trainers.
In order to enter the Ultimate Sports Day campaign, simply pick up a pack and visit www.ultimatesportsday.co.uk, letting Weetabix know what a dream sports day obstacle would be: whether it’s a giant sack race or a one-of-a-kind relay – the more creative the concept, the better.
Two winners and their schools will be selected and invited to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Monday 14th July 2014, to take part in 2014’s most exciting day of sport under the watchful eye of Olympic legend Mo Farah and fuelled by Weetabix.
A little information from Weetabix about the Campaign.

Olympic gold medallist and Weetabix fan Mo Farah, commented: “I’m really looking forward to being part of the Weetabix Ultimate Sports Day campaign. As an athlete and, more importantly as a dad, I know how vital it is to inspire kids get active and a big part of that is making sure they get a nutritious start to the day.
“Being a champion isn’t just about being the best; it’s about looking after yourself and having the attitude to maintain that. It would be amazing if we ended up fuelling future champions this summer – and hopefully I’ll get some extra fuel ahead of the Marathon!”
