If you are a regular reader to Mummy and the Cuties, by this time you might know how much importance I give to the apps that are educational and encourages learning through fun!, mainly the games that are more educational but for the kids, it actually gives a feel of playing a game!!! Yes, That’s the trick!
We have reviewed the Dino Train – Paint and Match app from Kuato before and was lucky to try another one from them! This time, it was a more fun – a detective game with Noddy – Noddy: Toyland Detective App.
It’s aimed at children under 5’s and encourages them to become a Toyland Detective who can solve the mysteries using the ‘Who, What, Where Book’. Once you’ve solved all the clues, trace back your findings by reading the story of your adventures in a narrative photo storybook.
Noddy as Toyland’s most famous detective in an adventure filled with storytelling, learning and creative fun, this app is packed with minigames and extras to encourage the children to learn phrases and help to make sentences!
IN NODDY TOYLAND DETECTIVE offers extensive entertainment to the children that include:
Play as Noddy and explore the beautifully recreated world of Toyland in 3D.
Meet characters from the TV show including Bumpy Dog, Revs, Pat-Pat and the Panda Pockets, Fuse, the Naughticorns, and more!
• Ask questions to uncover clues and solve mysteries with the ‘Who-What-Where book’.
• Create musical masterpieces with the Pirate Band using simple tap and touch controls.
• Follow Deltoid’s workout patterns to learn the ancient art of Deltoid-O.
• Paint and decorate Revs the car with colourful shapes and designs.
• Help the Brickabuild builders solve jigsaw puzzles.
Noddy: Toyland Detective App improves the investigation skills by discovering challenges, remembering, collecting, listening, thinking, and making connections! There is a grownup corner to give permission to save the pictures and stories.
You can collect stickers on the way during your detective path and when you solve a clue you are given a notification. There are usually 3 clues to resolve and once all three are resolved, the story is built! There are many detective stories for the children to enjoy and there are many minigames to play on the way.
The game takes a bit of time to load and so the minigames. You can skip a minigame if you don’t want to play. DD2 enjoyed playing the games but always wanted my help to resolve the clues or atleast to teach her where and how to look for the clues.
As she has started reading most of the words independently, she enjoyed reading the final story. I would recommend installing it on a tablet considering the activities and the nature of the app that would make it easy to play on the big screen, it is after all easy to navigate.
Here is the story we built about our detective journey through the “case of the Timid toy”
The App is £2.99 and available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Brilliant review Rishi, Love the pictures you have added and the pictures say it all. At first, I thought it’s quite an expensive game but then looking at the features and entertainment value, I feel it is worth giving it a try, My Noddy fan would love it!
My daughter loves Noddy so I really should look this up, it looks really good! I’m not a massive fan but sometimes you just need these things don’t you x
I love an app to keep the kids occupied on long car journeys and this one sounds great! My kids love Noddy!
