Our #QuickbuildTimeChallenge with Airfix

We took the model building challenge with Airfix to build a Lamborghini and a Hawk. DD2 is usually fond of making models but not DD1. The time challenge set by Airfix was quite encouraging and unique that she was more keen to face it.

We were sent an Airfix Quickbuild Hawk and an Airfix QUICK BUILD Lamborghini Aventador models along with a stopwatch. The challenge is to see how quickly both sets can be built and that’s what attracted DD1.

Both kits are aimed at children aged 5 years and over and the best thing about these kits is the click and connect pieces. The sets come with stickers and instructions sheets. No glue, No paint, Just build is definitely mess free!

The Airfix Quickbuild Lamborghini comes in a crisp and distinct colour and features rubber tyres. It has 33 parts in total. With clear instruction sheet, it is easy to build.

The pre-coloured pieces simply push together, without glue or paints, to build an impressive model which can then be decorated with the included self-adhesive stickers. Plane models also come with their own display stand to show off your handiwork!

DD1 took about 18 minutes and 33 seconds to finish the Lamborghini.

The Airfix Quickbuild Hawk comes with a total of 26 parts with 3 additional parts for the stand. This was much easier than the car and we found the pieces were sticking together well when compared to the Lamborghini. DD1 finished it much more quicker than the Lamborghini and took only one-third of the time and the set was complete by 6 minutes 2 seconds.
