I do have a family history of High blood pressure and especially because I am from an Indian background, I am always been suspected as one of the victims for High BP. However, I managed myself to be slightly different – Not by overcoming High BP but by welcoming Low BP. 🙂
Though it might relieve many people hearing the word “Low”, medical research says it is not. Low blood pressure aka Hypotension is considered to be rare and highly dangerous than High BP aka hypertension. But there is nothing to panic here. As far as you are aware of your medical history and keep yourself calm and fit, there is nothing to worry.
In such situations, it is always nice to have a BP monitor at home so you have quicker access to assess your BP and take necessary steps if needed. And if the Monitor you are looking for is accurate and affordable, you should really be tempted to have one for your own. Ozeri had recently sent me a Ozeri CardioTech Pro Series Digital Blood Pressure Monitor with Heart Health WHO Indicator to try.
It is a very simple design and has no complicative procedures to monitor your blood pressure. You will have the accurate readings in less than a minute. The monitor needs 2 AAA batteries and are supplied with the monitor so you don’t have to search for the batteries when you are ready to use it for the first time.
It comes in a nice storage box which can hold the monitor and the user manual. The Box has a Child proof lid so it is hard for small children to open it.
Best features of Ozeri Blood Pressure Monitor:
- It has the Wrist Cuff Design so it is really easy to handle. Quickly fastens with the Velcro fastener.
- A very decent sized screen with big and clear display, so it is very easy to read even by the older people.
- It works on New MWI – Measure While Inflate Technology, so it is much faster than the traditional blood pressure Monitors.
- Automatic WHO hypertension indicator (We were lucky and blessed not to have to test it to the highest level).
For the first time use, You need to get into the settings and set the user profile and time. It can store 2 user profiles and up to 90 entries each for each user. After setting up the user, there are time settings and once this is done, your Ozeri Blood pressure monitor is ready to use.
Very quick, no pain, no discomfort. You just fit it tightly on your wrist and hold hand in the right position as suggested and press the start button. It gets the reading while it is inflating and the hypertension indicator bar raises as per the reading. It also gives you the pulse rate. It is not too tight on the wrist so could be used with small children as well.
It is accurate that I have compared it with the readings from my Doctor’s visit and it matched perfectly. Portable, so it can be carried anywhere you go and will stay with you all the time.
Nice to have:
We don’t see any major design flaws and there is no critical suggestion. The only thing I have noticed it, it is designed to store the details of two users and there is no way to detail the names. This could be improved to 4 users.
Disclosure: I was sent this monitor for a honest review. All ideas are my own.
