A few weeks before meal time was such a pleasure for me. DD1 was never a fussy eater and so was DD2. But then, after our recent holidays, everything has changed. The pampering at Granny’s place and extreme fun and happiness of playing outside in the sun has played up and now the meal time is as tough as it could be and all she wants to do is play, play and play.
So I had to start looking for options that would increase her interest in meal times and the lovely people at OXO tot have asked us to review some of the products from their Baby and Toddler range. They looked very promising to get the little ones attention and make the meal time more interesting and exciting and ofcourse enjoyable.
We have received OXO Tot Divided Plate and OXO Tot Fork & Spoon Set in Raspberry to review. The Best thing about OXO Tot products are they are BPA, phthalate and PVC free and dishwasher safe. They go in the Top Rack as with other similar baby brands. And they are available in green, aqua and raspberry.
The Plate has three individual sections for the varieties you would serve your Infant/toddler with. This helps the children to have a mealtime that’s neat, tidy and easy. The Center section could be a dipping section and DD 2 loved to have curry and sauces in there. The Outer ring is a protective layer for the foods that can be split easily by those little hands like Peas and corns. This can be removed as they grow older and learn to eat cleaner. But I think I would still keep it and would do it only for cleaning.
Obviously, DD1 was much impressed with it. As you know, though being slightly older, they would still be fascinated towards what the younger siblings use. But it could only be a snack plate for your older children and if you are mesmerized by your older ones to let them use the plate, then you might have to do fewer rounds of serving.
This OXO Tot divided plate goes well with the OXO Tot Fork and Spoon set. The handles are soft and are non-slip grips and are easy to hold. The flat side of the Fork and Spoon prevents them from rolling off the table (DD 2 can still push them hard and make them fall though! 🙁 ) They are well curved to hold the food in, unless your toddler desperately wants to splash them out. :). The fork tines are really good to prevent the food from slipping off, but not too sharp to hurt the little ones.
We were also sent a Twist Top Water Bottle – 300ml in Raspberry from the Big Kids Range for DD 1. This is a twist open bottle and this prevents the bottle from leak and the straw is kept clean while not in use. The straw is considerably wider and is suitable for even shakes. A wide mouth makes the cleaning easier. DD1 never remembers to drink enough water and even if she does remember, she is lazy to drink. This Twist top bottle is amazingly doing it’s job. DD1 loves it and even if I forget, she reminds me to fill her bottle:)
All Products are made with so much love and care that it makes the feeding time more happy. One happy Mum, thanks OXO. 🙂
