When I gave birth, the first advice to me was to use cotton and water to clean that lovely tiny little bottom! 🙂 And yes, though it was a bit of more work than just pulling a wipe from the pack, I have used cotton and water to give her a good clean……..But, I couldn’t do that for long and always…. and finally had to reach out for wipes to make my job simpler. Couldn’t worry much about the chemicals, still feeling guilty inside I somehow convinced myself thinking of the other mums who are just like me using the wipes for their babies.
When Mumsnet was talking about WaterWipes, there were two reasons I was desperate to try this. First thing, if I could keep the chemicals away from my daughter’s sensitive and Eczema prone skin and to offer my sister who just had a baby and was struggling to use “cotton and water” every time and especially at Night time!!!!!
If you haven’t heard of WaterWipes before, they are made only of 2 ingredients: 99.9% Water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract and approved by Allergy UK. Smells absolutely nothing but works brilliantly03!
What we loved about WaterWipes:
-
You absolutely smell nothing!!!!! Nothing at all, neither in the wipes nor on that tiny little bottom! 🙂
- Soft, just exactly what you would look for when you buy anything to use on your Baby’s Skin
- It releases just one wipe every time that I don’t have a dumped wipes pack anymore! Having the worst experience with hundreds of packs, WaterWipes impressed me on this!
The only downside about WaterWipes is the Price! You pay £2.99 for a pack of 60 wipes. Considering that we use atleast 2 packs of Wipes every week, this definitely looks expensive and will put you down while the other major brands attracts you with eye-catching offers and coupons!
Honestly, after using the two packs of WaterWipes, both Mums are now so reluctant to go back to our previous ones and still buying WaterWipes (while we actively seek for deals) and spending them cautiously avoiding the children messing with the wipes (There were days when a full pack was finished in no time on the dining table!!!!!). Ofcourse when I spend just a pound for 64 wipes I wouldn’t mind but I think I do keep an eye on the wastage while I use “WaterWipes” 🙂
Considering the purity of WaterWipes, If you are stubborn using “cotton & Water” for you Newborn but struggle to do so every time, I definitely recommend WaterWipes.

I received a small pack as a sample, not sure from where it is but when I used them I loved it. But as you mentioned, as they were too expensive I couldn’t buy them all the time but substitute a few of the other Brand wipes I use with Waterwipes quite often. I think it is hard to find a deal as well, if there is one I always make sure I am the first to grab a few packs 🙂
I agree, Nowhere I could find them for less than 2 pounds :(, Will keep an eye on the Baby events at superstores may be we will be lucky to grab some deals! 🙂
