We’re going on a bear hunt – a book we read again and again, over and over and even after the pages started ripping off! Hearing about the DVD release of their favourite book gave them a huge excitement but ofcourse lot of expectation too! Unfortunately, we were away during Christmas and missed it when it was aired! so, we were very pleased when we were invited to host a Twitter Party with @UkMumsTV and received a package filled with gifts and ofcourse the “We’re going on a Bear Hunt” DVD.
We got some Bear ears to make on our own and when you buy the DVD, you get the ears too 🙂
The animation is a perfect adaptation of the story and the characters are matched in colours and apperance to make it more close to the story. There are a few twist that makes the story more interesting!
Instead of the father and the mother, the older brother and sister takes their siblings on the Bear Hunt! As the father and mother has to go to meet the grand mother (after loosing their grand dad), the children decide to go on the adventure and it teaches a good lesson that, however the day is, you got to learn to go through it! And…. they go through the similar obstacles including the grass, a stream, a mudflat and snowstorn, they go over, under and through it to finally find a bear!
And, there is the twist and that’s how the 5 minutes reading time has been stretched to a 30 minute watching time!
The little girl eventually wants to be friend with the bear and doesn’t want to leave it while her older siblings are frightened of it and decides not to go on the bear hunt ever again!
Would they be friend with the bear!? Would they let it go!? if you haven’t watched the animation over Christmas, it is a must watch!
It’s from the makers of The Snowman and The Snowdog, featuring the voices of Olivia Colman, Pam Ferris and Mark Williams and most importantly, Michael Rosen, who wrote the best-selling book, will play the Bear, plus a few other voice characters! So, it is not going to let you down!
