10pm – I was in the middle of finishing off with the house chores, tidying up the Lego pieces that DD1 played with to make a Castle so I don’t have to worry about the some of them being tasted by DD2 in the morning while I rush myself to get DD1 ready for school! While I thought it would be just around 11am, the Cuckoo called for 12 times! Midnight!? No worries, there is just another 10 minutes of little things to be done!
12:30 am – I was in bed catching up with my blog comments and socialmedia and I don’t really have a clue when I slept!
Soon I heard someone singing and it’s become habitual that I sing more in my sleep, still with eyes closed, assuming the music comes from next door and been happily played by DD2! Oh! No!!! Why did I sing? Soon, I felt the little hands hugging me! Reluctant to send her to the next room, I hugged her, opened my eyes a little to see the time – 4 am!!!!!
Good!!! I might have had atleast 3 hours sleep! In my heart, I was wishing that cuckoo should call for 6 after waiting a little lon………..ger but I forgot about the alarm. It’s so annoying that it doesn’t stop until I hit hard on its head and then I can’t sleep anymore!
6 am – Here I am locking the toilet room, wishing I get privacy there, checking my socialmedia. Some days are good with no intervention but not all days!
Kettle time, breakfast, another round of quick cleaning, uniforms, water bottle, book bag, letters that should be in school by today, etc, etc!
7 am – wake up call for DD1, 7:10 – Are you awake? 7:20 – I realise there was no answer to the question I asked around 7:10, Can’t leave the cooker unattended… 7:30 – I am at kid’s bedroom trying to whisper to DD1 withe hope of not waking up DD2 – Here she is, DD2 standing next to me.. Yes, my 7:10 scream did work but to the wrong person!
8 am – We are on the breakfast table where I let my imagination flow to the fullest to make the breakfast time happier so there is no argument for not liking anything on the breakfast plate!
8:35 am – We are out of the house hoping to make it to the school on time! I hear a voice saying “I think I need poo again!”, What! I think it’s the breakfast!!! Should I say Yes or No!? Considering it is a good 15 minutes walk to school, though I wish to be punctual and would love her to hold it, as a mom, I had to let her go!
8:40 am – have you finished yet? – Not sure if it was fully downloaded or not, but did a quick clean and off we go to the school, running this time!
9 am – Parent Toddler group – running behind the little one making sure that she is safe, checking nappy quite often whenever I smell poo (There are atleast 10 children every day at the centre), singing rhymes and finally tidy up song and then comes the tough part of convincing a little one who doesn’t want to go home!
12 noon- A quick lunch for DD2 and myself and while hoping DD2 would have a nap ( which usually fails), I get busy making dinner and doing house chores while watching her safely play!
3:15 pm – School pickup time and the busy evening routine starts.
In between, If I manage to get sometime to look after my blog, I do so in daytime, if not it is usually at night while everyone is sleeping!
Most days go on a fixed schedule! Though I find myself too busy and hardly find time to do something for me, when I go out to events, I do miss my regular routine and keep calling hubby to check if everything is ok at home and with kids!
I am sure most moms follow the same routine and there are days I happily catchup with my friends on Social media for a late night chat 🙂 Time flies…. in a good, busy way and I am looking forward to much more busier, happier days!
Excellent 🙂
